Maharashtra Weather Shifts: Cold Eases, Rain Expected in Several Regions

Maharashtra is witnessing noticeable changes in weather, with frequent fluctuations in atmospheric conditions beginning to affect public health as well.

For the past several days, Mumbai and many parts of the state experienced intense cold. However, the chill is now easing, and in a sudden shift, several regions have received rainfall. Mumbai and Raigad saw light rain showers, while the Meteorological Department has predicted that a low-pressure system formed over the Bay of Bengal will impact parts of the state. A yellow alert for rain has been issued for six districts in Marathwada and North Maharashtra.

According to the IMD, Marathwada will remain cloudy, with light to moderate rainfall expected in both Marathwada and North Maharashtra. From January 27, the intensity of cold across Maharashtra will decrease, while day temperatures are likely to rise, leading to warmer conditions.

The Konkan region, including Mumbai, is also experiencing cloudy weather. Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Mumbai, and Thane recorded light rain along with morning mist. Mumbai is expected to remain partly cloudy in the afternoon, with moderate to strong coastal winds. Light showers may occur at isolated places.

In Mumbai, maximum temperatures are expected to range between 28°C and 32°C, while minimum temperatures will be between 18°C and 22°C.

In Western Maharashtra, including Pune, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur, and Solapur, the weather will remain dry, but temperatures are expected to rise in the afternoon, causing noticeable heat. Maximum temperatures may range from 29°C to 33°C, and minimum temperatures from 14°C to 18°C.

North Maharashtra, including Nashik, Dhule, Jalgaon, and Nandurbar, will experience cloudy conditions throughout the day, with rainfall possible in some areas.

In Marathwada, districts such as Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Beed, Parbhani, Nanded, and Latur will also remain cloudy, with light rain likely on January 27 and 28.

Meanwhile, Vidarbha covering Nagpur, Amravati, Akola, Washim, Yavatmal, Chandrapur, and Gadchiroli will see partly cloudy skies, with a chance of light showers in certain areas.

Overall, Maharashtra is set to experience a mix of cloudy skies, rising daytime temperatures, and scattered rainfall over the next couple of days.
