These approvals are part of ongoing efforts to maintain regulatory compliance while facilitating timely execution of housing projects across the state. The approvals include new registrations, timeline extensions, and corrections to existing projects to ensure adherence to technical, legal, and financial norms.
Of the 809 applications cleared, 405 were new registrations, 209 were timeline extensions, and 195 were corrections to existing projects, according to MahaRERA data. Pune city led the approvals with 122 new projects, followed by the MMR, including Greater Mumbai, which accounted for 197 projects. Within MMR, 63 were in Mumbai city and suburbs, 58 in Thane, 41 in Raigad, 22 in Palghar, 9 in Ratnagiri, and 4 in Sindhudurg.
Other regions also recorded notable approvals. Vidarbha had 31 projects, including 20 from Nagpur, 5 from Amravati, 4 from Akola, and 2 from Chandrapur. Khandesh accounted for 29 approvals, with 23 from Nashik, 5 from Ahilyanagar, and 1 from Dhule. Marathwada recorded 9 approvals, including 5 from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, 3 from Jalna, and 1 from Latur.
Between April 25 and September 25, MahaRERA cleared 4,940 project-related proposals across the state. These included 2,039 fresh registrations, 1,748 extensions, and 1,153 corrections. Officials said the regulator continues to prioritize approvals for projects that strictly meet legal, technical, and financial norms, supporting transparency and reducing procedural delays that could affect project timelines.
Industry observers noted that the surge in clearances indicates sustained development activity across Maharashtra’s real estate markets, particularly in Pune and MMR, which together accounted for more than three-fourths of the new registrations. According to experts, the approvals reflect both growing housing supply and continued demand from buyers across urban and peri-urban locations. The scale of approvals is expected to provide developers with a clear roadmap for upcoming construction activity while maintaining compliance standards.
