The primary role of MahaRERA Conciliation Forums is to resolve homebuyer grievances within 60 days, with an extension to 90 days in exceptional cases.
MahaRERA Conciliation Forums have resolved 1,749 homebuyer grievances out of 5,958 cases filed.
Initially, there were a few forums in Mumbai and Pune in 2018. Now, the number has increased to 52 forums across the state.
If the settlement terms are not fulfilled, the complainant can seek further recourse from MahaRERA, as the grievance cannot be dismissed without the complainant's consent.
The complainant is given the option to resolve the issue through the conciliation forum during the first hearing. The complaint is only forwarded to the forum after the complainant's consent.
