The purpose of MahaRERA's verification drive is to ensure the timely completion and handover of 3,699 lapsed real estate projects across Maharashtra by verifying the Occupancy Certificates (OCs) and ensuring compliance with regulatory norms.
Project developers are required to submit their latest progress reports and any pending documents to MahaRERA for the verification process.
Developers who fail to comply with the verification process may face penalties as per the provisions of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016 (RERA), including fines, suspension of projects, and cancellation of project registrations.
Homebuyers can participate in the verification process by submitting their queries and concerns through a dedicated helpline and online portal set up by MahaRERA.
The verification drive is expected to be completed within the next six months, after which MahaRERA will release a comprehensive report outlining the findings and recommendations.
