MahaRERA stands for Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority. It is a regulatory body established under the RERA Act to oversee and regulate the real estate sector in Maharashtra.
The new circular mandates developers to prominently display their MahaRERA registration number, project registration number, and unique project ID in all housing advertisements.
This mandate is important because it enhances transparency in the real estate market, helps homebuyers make informed decisions, and reduces the risk of investing in unregistered or fraudulent projects.
Penalties for non-compliance with the mandate include fines and de-registration from MahaRERA. The authority will strictly monitor compliance and take necessary actions against non-compliant developers.
This will benefit homebuyers by providing them with crucial information about the developer and the project at the initial stages of their property search, helping them verify the legitimacy and reducing the risk of fraud.
