MahaRERA has introduced new guidelines that prioritize complaints from homebuyers who have been diagnosed with terminal illnesses and have a life expectancy of less than six months. These complaints will be expedited and resolved within a specified timeframe.
Homebuyers or their legal guardians can file a complaint by submitting a medical certificate from a registered medical practitioner confirming the terminal nature of the illness, along with a detailed complaint form.
The main objective of the new guidelines is to ensure that homebuyers suffering from terminal illnesses receive timely assistance and justice, reducing their stress and anxiety during their difficult times.
MahaRERA will closely monitor the progress of these cases and take necessary actions to ensure that homebuyers receive the support they need. This includes regular updates and reviews of the complaint resolution process.
Developers who fail to comply with MahaRERA's regulations may face penalties, including fines and suspension of their licenses. This is part of MahaRERA's strategy to ensure accountability and transparency in the real estate sector.
