Real Estate News:The Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) is set to conduct its 5th exam for real estate agents on July 29. A total of 5,260 candidates who have completed preliminary training in the real estate sector will appear for the online exam at 24 centers across the state.

The candidates hail from different regions, including Mumbai Metropolitan Region, Pune, Nagpur, Nashik, Sambhajinagar, Kolhapur, Sangli, Amravati, Jalgaon, and Nanded. This exam is a crucial step towards ensuring that real estate agents are well-versed in the provisions of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act.

In the real estate sector, agents play a vital role in providing primary information to homebuyers about various projects. They need to be knowledgeable about the provisions of the RERA Act, including details such as the agreement for sale, stamp duty and registration, allotment letter, carpet area, payment schedule, and regulatory provisions.

MahaRERA has taken strict action against defaulting agents who failed to comply with the mandatory training and certification requirements. Recently, the authority suspended registrations of over 20,000 agents who did not meet the requirements. So far, 19,403 people have completed the training, and 9,295 candidates have cleared the examination.

Chairman MahaRERA emphasized that securing and protecting homebuyers' interests is the authority's top priority. 'It is MahaRERA's resolve not to tolerate any harm done to the homebuyers,' he concluded.
