Real Estate:Amaravati: Malaysian companies have shown a keen interest in investing between ₹6,000 crore and ₹10,000 crore in Andhra Pradesh's capital, Amaravati, over the next five years. A high-level Malaysian delegation, including Selangor State Minister Papparaidu Veraman, Klang MP V. Ganabatirau, and representatives from the Malaysia-Andhra Business Chamber, held detailed discussions with Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister P. Narayana in Amaravati on Friday.

The Malaysian team, which has been visiting the state since October 1, toured Amaravati alongside Minister Narayana to observe the progress of various development projects in the city. Minister Papparaidu expressed their commitment to working with India for the development of Amaravati. Representatives from several Malaysian companies, particularly those with Telugu origins, presented their projects to Minister Narayana using a PowerPoint presentation.

According to an official statement, the Malaysian companies are keen to invest in key sectors such as education, tourism, hospitality, trade and commerce, and real estate. The University of Cyberjaya has expressed interest in establishing a medical university in Amaravati, while the Berjaya Group has plans to set up five-star hotels.

Minister Narayana provided the Malaysian representatives with a comprehensive overview of the development works currently underway in Amaravati. He emphasized that Amaravati is being developed in a planned manner under the leadership of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. The minister informed the delegation that tenders worth ₹51,000 crore have already been completed, and construction work has commenced.

Narayana also shared the ambitious targets set by the state government, including the completion of 360 km of trunk roads in the capital city within a year and a half, 1,500 km of layout roads within two years, and 4,000 houses for officials, employees, and public representatives by the end of March next year. He stated that the state government aims to complete the construction of administrative buildings, such as the Secretariat Towers, Assembly, and High Court buildings, within two and a half years.

The minister acknowledged that the recent rains have caused some delays in the construction work, but he assured the Malaysian team that the pace of work will accelerate in the coming days. Suresh Kumar, Principal Secretary of the Municipal Department, and Kannababu, Commissioner of the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA), along with CRDA Additional Commissioner Bhargava Teja, were present during the discussions.

This significant investment from Malaysian companies is expected to boost the economy of Amaravati and create numerous job opportunities in various sectors. It also highlights the growing interest of international investors in Andhra Pradesh's development projects.
