Massive Blast at Chemical Factory in Thane District Leaves 10 Dead
Real Estate Maharashtra:A devastating explosion occurred at a chemical factory in Dombivli, Thane district, Maharashtra, on Thursday, resulting in the loss of 10 lives and injuring over 60 people. The incident took place at the Amber Chemical Company in Phase 2 of the Dombivli MIDC (Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation) complex.

According to initial reports, four boilers of the chemical factory exploded, triggering a massive blaze. The fire spread quickly, causing drums containing chemicals to burst, shattering window panes of nearby houses. The explosion was so loud that it could be heard from a kilometre away, and the blast caused cracks in the glass windows of a nearby building and damaged many houses in the vicinity.

The injured workers were transported to a local hospital, and a civic official reported that arrangements were made to treat the injured and more ambulances were kept ready. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis described the incident as tragic and confirmed that eight people trapped on the premises have been rescued.

Teams from the Thane civic body’s Regional Disaster Management Cell and 13 personnel from the Thane Disaster Response Force arrived at the location, with efforts ongoing to control the blaze. Ravindra Chavan, Maharashtra’s Minister of Public Works (Excluding Public Undertakings), urged people in the surrounding areas to not panic and assured that the administration has been asked to deal with the firefighting operations.
