Meenakshi Group Secures Rs 700 Crore for Real Estate AIF
Real Estate News:Mumbai, Jun 2 (PTI) Hyderabad-based Meenakshi Group has made a significant move in the real estate sector by announcing the raising of up to Rs 700 crore for a realty-focused alternate investment fund (AIF). This strategic fundraise is a testament to the group's commitment to expanding its presence in the real estate market.

The real estate group has committed 20 per cent of the corpus size as sponsor capital for the fund. This investment is expected to bolster the group's portfolio and drive growth in the sector. The fund aims to invest in up to eight deals over a period of six years, as per a statement.

This initiative is part of Meenakshi Group's broader strategy to capitalize on the growing demand for real estate in India. The group has a strong track record of successful projects and is well-positioned to leverage this new fund to identify and invest in high-potential opportunities.

In a related development, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) and the Investor Education and Protection Fund Authority (IEPFA) joined hands to conduct the maiden 'Niveshak Shivir' in Pune. The investor outreach camp was conducted on Sunday and focused on assisting shareholders in reclaiming unpaid dividends and unclaimed shares, a statement said.

The camp provided a platform for investors to engage directly with regulatory bodies and gain insights into various investment avenues. It also aimed to enhance investor awareness and protect their interests in the financial market.

Meanwhile, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) felicitated Varsha Ankush Patil with the Woman Exemplar Award 2025 in the education category. Patil, from Kolhapur district, was honored by the Union Women and Child Development Minister at the CII Annual Business summit last week. The award recognizes women who are building community resilience against systemic challenges and vulnerabilities.

In another noteworthy announcement, Saraf Furnitures, an omnichannel brand, declared its plans to hire 500 people from the LGBTQI community in the future. The company aims to open 50 new offline retail stores over the next three years and is aligning its hiring plans with the pride month to promote inclusivity and diversity.

These initiatives highlight the dynamic and inclusive nature of the Indian business landscape, where companies are not only focusing on financial growth but also on social responsibility and community engagement.
