Mission Maharashtra: Ajit Pawar Launches Jan Samman Yatra to Prepare for Assembly Elections
Real Estate Maharashtra:Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar is set to embark on a mass outreach programme, dubbed Jan Samman Yatra, to prepare the ground for the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections. The Yatra is scheduled to commence from Nashik, according to NCP's Maharashtra unit president Sunil Tatkare, who is leading the initiative.

Ajit Pawar's move comes despite the ruling Mahayuti alliance, of which NCP is a part, not having begun talks on seat-sharing for the elections. The NCP leader recently met with Home Minister Amit Shah, demanding 80-90 seats for the party in the assembly polls.

Tatkare credited Ajit Pawar for introducing welfare projects worth Rs 1 lakh crore, benefiting women, youths, and farmers in the state. He also expressed confidence that senior NCP leaders Chhagan Bhujbal and Praful Patel will perform well in the forthcoming assembly elections.

Ajit Pawar has been instrumental in introducing various welfare schemes to woo youth and women voters after the NCP's setback in the Lok Sabha elections. As a state finance minister, he has struck a balance between fiscal prudence and welfare schemes. The Jan Samman Yatra, which will traverse all 288 assembly constituencies, aims to connect with people and make them aware of the initiatives undertaken by the NCP.

The Mahayuti alliance, comprising the NCP, Shiv Sena, and BJP, had earlier stated that the assembly polls would be fought jointly. However, accommodating the concerns of every constituent is likely to be a challenge for the alliance.

The Jan Samman Yatra comes against the backdrop of a controversy surrounding the 'Mukhyamantri Mazi Ladki Bahin Yojana' scheme announced in the state budget by Ajit Pawar. Under the scheme, women in the 21-65 age group with a family income of less than Rs 2.5 lakh will receive Rs 1,500 monthly.

Information Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) is a regional political party in India, founded by Sharad Pawar in 1999. The party has been a part of the Mahayuti alliance in Maharashtra since 2014.

Ajit Pawar is the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra and a senior leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). He has been instrumental in introducing various welfare schemes and projects in the state.
