Mumbai Gets 9% Share of $2.1 Bn Foreign Realty Investments in Q3

Foreign investors drove Indian real estate investments to $2.1 billion (around Rs 17,500 crore) in the July-September quarter. The inflow underlines sustained global interest in Indian property markets despite global headwinds.

Mumbai leads among cities

Mumbai attracted 9 per cent of the quarter's total investments, ahead of Delhi-NCR's 6 per cent. For Maharashtra buyers and investors, this points to continued institutional confidence in the Mumbai metropolitan region's residential and commercial assets.

Private equity remains the key route

Private equity investors accounted for a major share of the inflows, with a focus on income-yielding commercial assets and select residential projects. This trend is likely to support transparency and organised supply in key micro-markets.

For local investors, the data signals that foreign capital is not just entering but staying in quality Mumbai projects. It also highlights the need to track project-level fundamentals before taking a decision.
