Mumbai Launches Fully Online Property Mutation Portal
MUMBAI: A new portal providing fully online property mutation services in Mumbai has been launched, officials announced. Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule inaugurated the portal, accessible at epsitmumc.mahabhumi.gov.in, during a virtual event.
Property owners, including Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), can now apply from anywhere for property card name transfers and other changes through this website. The portal, developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), offers real-time SMS alerts and allows users to track their application status online.
The online system can process up to 45 types of property-related changes, including those arising from sale deeds, inheritance, gift deeds, leases, mortgages, and land acquisition. A help desk has been established at the Mumbai city collector's office to assist applicants with any technical issues they may encounter.
The portal was launched as part of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Maharajaswa Abhiyan, an initiative aimed at enhancing efficiency and transparency in revenue services. This move is expected to streamline the property mutation process, making it more convenient and accessible for all residents of Mumbai.
The launch of this portal marks a significant step towards digital governance in Mumbai, reducing bureaucratic hurdles and making essential services more user-friendly. It is anticipated that this initiative will not only benefit property owners but also contribute to the overall modernization of administrative processes in the city.
In addition to the convenience it offers, the portal also ensures that all transactions are recorded transparently, reducing the scope for corruption and increasing accountability. This digital transformation is part of a broader effort to improve the quality of governance and service delivery in Mumbai, aligning with the city's vision of becoming a smart and efficient urban center.
Residents and NRIs are encouraged to explore the new portal and take advantage of the streamlined services it offers. The help desk at the Mumbai city collector's office is available to provide any necessary assistance, ensuring a smooth transition to the new online system.
With the launch of this portal, Mumbai continues to lead the way in adopting innovative solutions to improve the lives of its citizens. The government's commitment to digital transformation is evident in this initiative, which is expected to set a benchmark for other cities in India.
