Mumbai Metro Line 4 and 4A Begin Trial Operations: A Leap Forward in Urban Connectivity
The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has initiated trial operations on a significant stretch of Metro Lines 4 and 4A, marking a pivotal advancement in the city’s public transportation infrastructure. Despite ongoing work on the designated depot, MMRDA has implemented an interim plan, including inspection pits beyond the terminal station at Gaimukh, to facilitate early operations and ensure the timely commencement of trial runs.
The trial phase encompasses dynamic testing, including load evaluations, signalling and traction checks, as well as emergency preparedness drills.
