Mumbai Police Arrest Real Estate Agent and Salesman for Molestation and Rape of Minors
Real Estate:The Mumbai police have arrested two accused under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act in two separate incidents of molestation and rape of minor girls in the western suburbs. Both incidents took place on Saturday, and the accused were also arrested on the same day.

In the first incident, the MIDC police arrested a 56-year-old real estate agent for allegedly molesting two girls aged seven and eight years in Andheri. The accused was produced in court on Sunday and remanded in police custody.

The incident occurred on Saturday around 3:30 PM when the accused came into the victim’s complex to show flats to his customer for rent. As he was going out of the building, he spotted both the girls playing in the complex and touched them inappropriately after luring them with chocolates. The accused kissed one of the victims, which made her angry, and both the girls then informed their parents about the incident, said a police officer.

After the incident, the residents became agitated, and the victim’s mother approached the MIDC police station. The police recorded the statement of the victim’s mother and registered a case against the accused under the POCSO Act. The accused lives in the Andheri area and was called into the police station and arrested in the case.

In the second incident that took place in the Bandra area, the Nirmal Nagar police arrested a 21-year-old man for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl. The incident occurred on Saturday when the girl was heading home around 8 PM. While she was going through an isolated patch, the accused stopped the girl and allegedly threatened and raped her, said a police officer with the Nirmal Nagar police station.

The police said the accused works as a salesman and lives in the same vicinity where the victim lives. The victim narrated the incident to her parents, and once they approached the police station, an FIR was registered. The accused has been arrested and is currently in police custody.

These incidents highlight the ongoing issue of child sexual abuse in urban areas and the need for increased vigilance and stringent enforcement of laws to protect minors from such heinous crimes. The police have assured the public of their commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of children in the community.
