Famous Studios was established in 1943 by J. B. Roongta and has been a significant film production hub in Mumbai for almost eight decades. It has hosted countless productions and witnessed the evolution of Indian cinema.
The Roongta family, owners of Famous Studios, have partnered with K Raheja Corp to transform the site into a luxury residential project.
The project will include a 69-storey tower with residential units from the 9th to the 66th floor, offering 3 BHK and 4 BHK apartments with views of the Mahalaxmi Race Course and the Arabian Sea.
The studio's plot area is 6,505.91 square metres with a permissible FSI of 1.33. The total permissible built-up area is 40,277.05 sq m or 4,33,538.55 sq ft, with a small commercial portion of 4,357.44 sq ft.
Local brokers estimate that the luxury apartments could fetch over ₹1 lakh per sq ft, making it a high-end residential project in Mahalaxmi.
