Navi Mumbai Civic Body Announces Property Tax Amnesty Scheme with 50% Penalty Waiver
The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has launched a property tax amnesty scheme to provide relief to taxpayers with pending dues and encourage them to clear their outstanding liabilities.
The scheme will be implemented from 10 March 2026 at 10 am until midnight on 31 March 2026. During this period, property owners who pay their outstanding property tax in full will receive a 50% waiver on the late payment penalty.
The initiative applies to residential, commercial, industrial properties, as well as vacant land located within Navi Mumbai. To avail of the benefit, taxpayers must pay the entire pending property tax amount up to the financial year 2025-26 in a single payment during the scheme period.
Civic authorities said property tax is a key source of revenue used for the development of the city and for providing essential civic services such as roads, water supply, sanitation, healthcare, education, and other urban infrastructure.
According to the civic body, while the ongoing property tax recovery drive has received a positive response from residents, some property owners still have pending dues. The amnesty scheme has therefore been introduced to provide relief to such defaulters and encourage faster settlement of outstanding payments.
Property owners can pay the tax online through the official website of the municipal corporation or via the My NMMC Majhi Navi Mumbai mobile application using debit cards, credit cards, internet banking, NEFT, RTGS, or UPI. Payments can also be made at the corporation's headquarters, ward offices, and authorised collection centres through cash, cheque, or demand draft.
The municipal corporation said normal recovery procedures will resume after 31 March 2026, urging property owners to utilise the scheme period to clear their dues and benefit from the penalty waiver.
