ODFED stands for Odisha Developers Federation, a new body formed by leading realtors in Odisha after disassociating from CREDAI. It aims to promote ethical practices and sustainable development in the real estate sector.
Realtors in Odisha formed ODFED due to the apathetic attitude of the central CREDAI towards their grievances, including the ban on providing membership to unregistered realtors and the preference for retaining only RERA registered builders.
The key leaders of ODFED include Pradipta Kumar Biswasroy as president, Umesh Patnaik as secretary, Suryakanta Nanda and Parthajeet Patnaik as vice-presidents, and Siddharth Mohapatra as treasurer.
The main objectives of ODFED are to serve as a collective voice for developers, advocate for policy reforms, promote ethical practices, ensure transparency, and support the sustainable development of the real estate sector.
CREDAI ruled out any irregularities and stated that the new body was formed by a group of realtors after the central CREDAI decided to have only one city chapter instead of two - CREDAI Bhubaneswar and CREDAI Bhubaneswar Foundation.
