PCMC is seeking compensation for providing land to Maha Metro, which is obstructing the extension of the Purple Line towards Nigdi.
Maha Metro requires 15 locations, totalling 4,886 square meters, for the extension of the Metro from PCMC Building to Nigdi.
The Metro currently operates over a 7.5-kilometre stretch from Dapodi to the PCMC Building in the city of Pimpri Chinchwad.
The Maharashtra Government is allocating PCMC-owned spaces to the metro for commercial use to increase non-ticket revenue and enhance the financial stability of Pune Metro.
PCMC has stated that the land should only be transferred to Maha Metro with ownership rights and without conditions after adequate compensation is provided.
