The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has launched a stringent enforcement drive against property tax defaulters, including disconnection of water supply and property seizures.

PCMC is issuing notices, disconnecting water supply, and seizing properties of defaulters who have not paid their property taxes despite repeated reminders.
There are 25,130 property owners with dues exceeding Rs 50,000.
Thergaon has the highest number of defaulters with 14,062 property owners in arrears.
PCMC is using tele-calling by clerks and officers to remind defaulters to pay their dues and is also issuing notices through its 18 tax offices.
Avinash Shinde is the Assistant Commissioner of the Property Tax Department at PCMC.
