Pune: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) and Alandi Municipal Council have signed an MoU to enhance cleanliness and sanitation efforts in Alandi under the Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0.

The Swachh Shehar Jodi initiative is a program by the ministry of housing and urban affairs that connects mentor cities with proven sanitation records to mentee cities for accelerated progress in cleanliness and sanitation.
PCMC is recognized as a Super Swachh City due to its consistent efforts and success in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, and its effective implementation of sanitation and waste management practices.
The eight priority areas are: visible cleanliness, waste collection and segregation, solid waste processing, sanitation facilities, citizen participation, waste-to-energy, water management, and green spaces.
The partnership between PCMC and Alandi will last for 100 days, during which PCMC will provide guidance and training to Alandi in the identified priority areas.
The expected outcome is to significantly improve cleanliness standards in Alandi and strengthen its performance in the Swachh Survekshan rankings by 2026, leading to a cleaner and healthier urban environment.
