PM Modi to Honor 'Lakhpati Didis' in Maharashtra's Jalgaon, Boosting Women Empowerment
Real Estate Maharashtra:Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Maharashtra's Jalgaon on Sunday to felicitate 11 lakh women, known as 'Lakhpati Didis', who have achieved a significant financial milestone under the government's scheme to empower women.

The 'Lakhpati Didis' initiative is designed to ensure that women earn at least Rs 1 lakh annually. Since its launch, over one crore women have reached this financial benchmark, with the BJP government aiming to increase this number to three crore.

During his visit, Modi will oversee the distribution of a Rs 2,500 crore revolving fund aimed at benefiting approximately 48 lakh members of 4.3 lakh self-help groups (SHGs). The PM will also disburse Rs 5,000 crore in bank loans, which will aid 25.8 lakh members of 2.35 lakh SHGs.

The scheme focuses on enhancing economic self-sufficiency among women by supporting them through SHGs, which provide a platform for women to save, access credit, and start small businesses. The revolving fund and bank loans are intended to boost the financial capabilities of these groups, enabling them to expand their businesses and improve their economic standing.

Modi's visit to Jalgaon is expected to boost the morale of women in the region and encourage them to take up entrepreneurship and self-employment opportunities. The event is also expected to promote the government's schemes and initiatives aimed at empowering women.

Following his visit to Maharashtra, Modi will head to Jodhpur, Rajasthan, to participate in the platinum jubilee celebrations of the Rajasthan High Court.
