PM Modi's Vision for a Tech-Driven 'Viksit Bharat'
Real Estate:Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking in a podcast with Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath, shared his visionary ideas for a technologically advanced India, emphasizing the country's strides in democratizing technology for the common people.
“I can send money directly into the bank accounts of 10 crore people in just 30 seconds,” he said, adding that the same efficiency applies to cylinder subsidies for 5 crore people.
With the India Stack, Modi highlighted, “Crores of rupees that used to get wasted due to corruption have been saved, and more and more people have benefited from technology.”

Talking about the Unified Payments Interface (UPI), the PM stated that global leaders often ask him about its functionality.
“I always tell them to visit a vendor in India.
In the world of fintech, India has shown the world how to democratize technology.
You just need a smartphone these days and you don't need anything else.
This is a tech-driven century,” he emphasized.
Under his leadership, the government has also established an innovation commission and innovation fund to foster further technological advancements.

On the changing perception of India's entrepreneurship image in the global market, Modi humbly acknowledged, “I don’t believe that I should be given the entire credit for that.
It’s our duty to connect with global talent.” He has been a strong advocate for attracting NRIs back to India, often saying publicly, “You would regret it if you didn’t come back to India.
The world is changing.
It is India's time.” Reflecting on the past, he mentioned a significant moment during his tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat when the U.S.
refused him a visa.
At a press conference in 2005, he confidently stated, “One day the world would stand in line for an Indian visa.” Today, in 2025, that vision is becoming a reality, with India emerging as a global tech hub.

Modi also discussed the concept of 'minimum government and maximum governance,' explaining that it doesn't mean reducing the number of ministers or employees.
Instead, it means reducing compliance and increasing the efficiency and speed of work.
His government has abolished 1,500 old laws that criminalized certain activities, streamlining processes and fostering a more favorable business environment.

At the start of the podcast, Modi recalled the early days of his tenure as Prime Minister in 2014.
“When I became the PM, leaders from across the world made courtesy calls.
Chinese President Xi Jinping also called and expressed his wish to visit India.
I welcomed his decision, and he invited me to visit Gujarat, specifically his village and my village, Vadnagar.” He elaborated on the special bond they share, noting that the Chinese philosopher Hiuen Tsang spent a significant amount of time in Vadnagar and later settled in President Xi's village, creating a unique connection between the two leaders.
