PMC Commissioner Directs Faster Road Widening on Pune Airport Routes

By GeoSquare News Desk · Published 2026-10-28

Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram has directed officials to expedite road-widening work and remove encroachments on key routes leading to Pune Airport. The instruction is part of a broader push to ease traffic congestion and improve infrastructure around the airport corridor.

Infrastructure Push

The civic body has been asked to fast-track pending widening projects and clear illegal structures that narrow carriageways. Smoother access to the airport is expected to reduce travel time for passengers, office-goers and logistics operators moving through the eastern parts of Pune.

Real Estate Impact

Infrastructure upgrades on airport routes typically strengthen demand for residential and commercial spaces in nearby catchments. Better road connectivity, improved street lighting and planned footpaths can make localities more attractive for homebuyers and investors looking at long-term capital appreciation.

Property buyers should monitor the progress of these civic works, as completed road-widening projects often lead to a rise in land values and rental yields. Areas with direct access to the airport are likely to see renewed interest from end-users and commercial developers.
