The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) is a statutory body responsible for the planned development of the Pune Metropolitan Region, including urban planning, infrastructure development, and enforcement of development laws.
The six-storey building was demolished because it was constructed without official permissions, posing serious safety risks and violating zoning and construction regulations.
PMRDA has removed 122 unauthorized hoardings across multiple talukas, including Haveli, Mulshi, Bhor, Purandar, and Daund.
Unauthorized hoardings contribute to visual pollution, obstruct traffic, and pose safety hazards to pedestrians and motorists.
The operation was led by PMRDA officials including Acting Commissioner Deepak Singla, Superintendent of Police (Vigilance) Amol Tambe, Deputy Collector Dr. Deepti Suryawanshi-Patil, and Executive Officer Pramod Kudale, with support from a large security force.
