Real Estate:The police in Chennai have made a significant arrest in the case of a kidnapped real estate broker. The incident, which unfolded over a few days, highlights the dangers of financial disputes and the swift action taken by law enforcement to ensure the safety of the victim.

The arrested individuals were identified as Arunkumar (36) from Pulianthope and Parthiban (55) from Vyasarpadi. The victim, S Desikamoorthy (50), runs a real estate broker office in Thousand Lights, Old Washermenpet.

Desikamoorthy went missing on Thursday, September 18, when he did not return home from his office. His family began a frantic search, and on Saturday, September 20, his son, Barath, received a threatening call demanding a ransom of Rs 5 lakh for his father's release. The callers warned Barath not to involve the police.

Despite the threats, Barath and his family decided to seek help from the Tondiarpet police. Special teams were formed to trace the calls and locate the hideout where Desikamoorthy was being held. The police successfully rescued Desikamoorthy on Saturday evening.

Investigations revealed that the kidnapping was a result of a financial dispute. Arunkumar and Parthiban had invested money with Desikamoorthy's female colleague for online trading. When they demanded their returns, the woman claimed that she had given the money to Desikamoorthy. This led the duo to confront Desikamoorthy at his office, where they threatened and attacked him before kidnapping him.

The arrested individuals were produced before a magistrate and remanded in judicial custody. The police are continuing their investigation to ensure that all aspects of the case are thoroughly examined and to prevent similar incidents in the future.
