Prestige Group and Maharashtra Government Ink Rs 12,500-Crore Deal for Three Major Projects
Real Estate Maharashtra:Bengaluru-based developer Prestige Estates Projects Ltd and the Maharashtra government have signed a Rs 12,500-crore “strategic investment deal” for a data center, a global competency center, and a logistics facility with residential and commercial properties.

The investment is expected to generate around 8,700 direct jobs as well as thousands of indirect opportunities, the developer and Maharashtra government said in a release on August 19. The three projects are expected to commence in 2026.

“Our proposed investments will not only create jobs and attract global talent but also strengthen Maharashtra’s position as the foremost destination for business and innovation in India,” Prestige Group executive director Zayd Noaman said. Prestige Group is proud to partner with the Maharashtra government to bring world-class infrastructure projects that align with the state’s vision of economic leadership, he added.

Prestige will build the data center at Taloja in Navi Mumbai. The project is expected to require an investment of around Rs 5,000 crore, with 1,200 direct jobs to be generated, the statement said. A Rs 5,000-crore global competency center, too, will likely come up in Navi Mumbai and is expected to generate jobs for around 5,000 people.

The logistics-cum-residential and commercial development is planned for Khalapur on the outskirts of the Mumbai metropolitan region, with an investment of Rs 2,500 crore.

“The Government of Maharashtra welcomes Prestige Group’s investments, which are fully aligned with our initiatives to generate large-scale employment and accelerate industrial growth,” said P Anbalagan, secretary (industries), government of Maharashtra.
