Proactive Measures to Prevent Spread of Infectious Diseases in Sai Layout
Real Estate:The Bangalore Bruhat Municipal Corporation (BBMP) has taken proactive steps to prevent the spread of infectious diseases in Sai Layout, located in the Horamavu Ward of the Mahadevapura Zone. These measures come in response to the severe impact of continuous rainfall since May 18, 2025, which has caused waterlogging and disrupted daily life in the area.

In response to the situation, BBMP officials and staff have been deployed on-site to assess the conditions and take necessary actions. Under the leadership of Mahadevapura Zonal Commissioner, K.N. Ramesh, the BBMP health department has acted swiftly to ensure the health and safety of residents in Sai Layout.

A dedicated health team, led by Zonal Health Officer Dr. Lokesh and Medical Health Officer Dr. Vishweshwarayya, visited the affected area and implemented essential preventive health measures. One of the key actions was the deployment of a rapid response team, which includes doctors and paramedical staff. They have set up a health camp in the area, equipped with essential medicines, blood pressure monitoring equipment, and an ambulance on standby.

To enhance community awareness, senior health inspectors and ASHA workers are conducting door-to-door visits to educate residents about waterborne and vector-borne diseases such as dengue. They are also emphasizing the importance of using safe drinking water. Local nursing college students are assisting with surveys and providing support at the health camp.

Through the joint efforts of the K. Narayanapura Urban Primary Health Centre and Namma Clinic, around 115 residents have been treated for various conditions, including high blood pressure, diabetes, and skin disorders. Medicines such as Calamine, Betamethasone, Ketoconazole, and Caldril ointments have been distributed to those in need.

To further prevent the outbreak of diseases like dengue, disinfection sprays are being used in the affected areas, and fogging operations are underway to control mosquito breeding. These measures are crucial in reducing the risk of vector-borne diseases and ensuring a healthier environment for the residents.

In case of emergencies, residents are urged to contact the Mahadevapura Zonal control room at 080-28512300 or share information via WhatsApp at 9480685706. This ensures that any urgent health issues can be addressed promptly and effectively.

The BBMP's comprehensive approach, combining medical treatment, community education, and preventive measures, is a testament to their commitment to public health and safety. Residents of Sai Layout can feel reassured knowing that these proactive steps are being taken to protect their well-being during this challenging time.
