Pune: ₹5,262 Crore Approved for Hadapsar to Yavat Flyover to Ease Traffic Congestion
Real Estate Pune:Pune, 6th June 2025: The Maharashtra government has authorized the construction of a 25-kilometer flyover between Hadapsar and Yavat in order to alleviate traffic congestion on the Pune-Solapur route. The flyover will be constructed above the current National Highway 65, which will also be widened to six lanes.

Additionally, a 6.5-kilometre stretch from Yavat to Solapur is set to be widened as part of the larger road infrastructure plan. The said project will be carried out by the Maharashtra State Infrastructure Development Corporation (MSIDC) with a cost of ₹5,262 crore.

The project will be implemented under the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model. Once operational, tolls will be collected from flyover users through advanced systems such as FastTag and GPS-based tracking. The said charges will be reviewed by the State Government every three years. While the expansion of the existing highway will be state-funded, the flyover and associated works will be developed through a public-private partnership.

Officials noted that if the alignment of the flyover requires changes due to the proposed Pune Metro expansion, MSIDC then will require a re-approval from the government.

The flyover is expected to significantly ease long-distance travel, reduce congestion within Pune, and support smoother traffic movement through the proposed city ring road. This project is a crucial step towards improving the overall infrastructure and connectivity in the region, benefiting both residents and commuters.
