Pune Airport Tops AAI Rankings, Realty Boost

By GeoSquare News Desk · Published 2026-11-01

Pune Airport has emerged as the top performer in the Airports Council International (ACI) Airport Service Quality (ASQ) survey, scoring an impressive 4.98 out of 5. The ranking places Pune ahead of 15 other airports in India, underscoring the city's growing prominence as an aviation hub.

What the Ranking Signifies

The ACI ASQ survey measures passenger satisfaction across key parameters such as check-in, security, and amenities. Pune's top score reflects improved passenger experience despite the airport operating beyond its designed capacity. This achievement highlights the need for enhanced infrastructure to sustain growth.

Impact on Pune Real Estate

The airport's performance and capacity constraints are closely watched by property investors. With passenger traffic rising, demand for residential and commercial spaces near the airport and along key corridors is expected to strengthen. Areas like Viman Nagar, Kharadi, and Hinjewadi continue to attract interest from buyers and developers.

Moreover, the strain on the existing airport has accelerated plans for a new greenfield airport at Purandar. Once operational, this is likely to open up new growth corridors in southern Pune, making locations like Saswad and Jejuri attractive for long-term investment.

Investment Outlook

For investors, the airport's ranking is a positive indicator of Pune's economic vitality. Infrastructure upgrades and new projects are set to boost connectivity, which typically leads to capital appreciation and rental demand. However, buyers should focus on micro-markets with clear development timelines and verify project approvals before investing.
