Seven individuals, including Pranjal Khewalkar, were arrested and tested positive for alcohol consumption. The investigation for narcotics use is ongoing.
Pranjal Khewalkar is the son-in-law of senior NCP leader Eknath Khadse. His involvement in the drug party has raised political and public interest.
Three packets of cocaine hidden in a cigarette pack were found and seized during the raid. Blood and urine samples were also collected for further analysis.
Eknath Khadse questioned the selective release of the alcohol report and the delay in the drug test report, citing concerns about the credibility of the system.
The accused were produced in court and remanded to two days of police custody. The police are awaiting laboratory results to confirm drug use.
