The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC)’s disaster management cell received numerous complaints and promptly deployed civic teams to address water drainage issues. They also opened manhole covers to facilitate rainwater drainage in affected areas.
The municipal disaster team responded immediately to the flooded areas, and no evacuations were necessary. A rescue team was pre-deployed in Ekta Nagar to be prepared for any emergencies.
The water release from Khadakwasla Dam caused the Mula-Mutha river to swell, submerging Bhide Bridge. The discharge was increased to 8,840 cusecs, prompting authorities to alert residents along the river to remain vigilant.
Residents in flood-prone areas are advised to stay vigilant and be prepared for any emergencies. They should follow updates from local authorities and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
