The controversial land deal involves the sale of 40 acres of land in Pune's Mundhwa area to Amadea Enterprises LLP, a firm co-owned by Parth Pawar, son of Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar. The deal was under scrutiny because the land belongs to the government and the firm was exempted from paying Rs 21 crore in stamp duty.
The report indicted three individuals: Ravindra Taru (sub-registrar), Digvijay Patil (Parth Pawar's business partner and cousin), and Sheetal Tejwani (who held the power of attorney on behalf of the land sellers).
Parth Pawar was not mentioned in the report because his name did not appear on any of the documents related to the land deal.
The report recommended that in cases where a stamp duty waiver is sought, the collector must vet and approve them. It also suggested that the restriction on the sale of government-owned properties should apply even when ownership is not clearly established.
The inquiry committees of the revenue department and settlement commissioner will submit their respective reports. All three reports will be forwarded to additional chief secretary (revenue) Vikas Kharge, who is heading a six-member panel to probe the land deal.
