Pune Metro Completes Vanaz-Ramwadi Line with Yerwada Station Inauguration

While the Metro service had been running on the route, Yerwada station is the last to be opened. Its addition completes the Vanaz-Ramwadi stretch, enhancing connectivity for commuters traveling between Yerwada, Pune, and Pimpri-Chinchwad, benefiting students, professionals, and residents alike.
The new station's design pays tribute to the historic Dandi March, reflecting a significant moment in India's freedom struggle and offering a meaningful connection to the nation's heritage.
Maha Metro Managing Director Shravan Hardikar expressed his satisfaction, stating, “The opening of Yerwada Metro station is a major milestone in our mission to provide efficient and convenient public transport to the citizens of Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad.”
Work is progressing on the Pimpri-Chinchwad to Swargate route, with completion of the underground section between Civil Court and Swargate expected next month. Extensions are also underway for routes from Pimpri-Chinchwad to Nigdi and from Katraj to Swargate.
