Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority Cracks Down on PITCMRL: Orders Road Repairs by September 25th
Real Estate Pune:Pune, September 23rd, 2024 The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has issued a stern notice to the Pune IT City Metro Rail Limited (PITCMRL) to repair the roads in the Ganeshkhind, Pashan, and Baner areas by September 25th. The roads, which are a crucial part of the city's infrastructure, have been in a state of disrepair for quite some time, causing inconvenience to citizens and drivers alike.

The PMRDA has been receiving complaints about the poor condition of the roads, particularly near the Agricultural College, where hundreds of vehicles pass through every day. Despite repeated requests, PITCMRL has failed to address the issue, prompting the PMRDA to take drastic measures.

According to the handover agreement, PITCMRL is contractually responsible for road work in these areas. However, the company's failure to maintain the roads has led to numerous challenges for drivers, who are forced to navigate slowly to avoid potholes.

In response to the situation, Dr. Yogesh Mhase, Commissioner of PMRDA, has issued a notice to PITCMRL, mandating that the roads be repaired by September 25th. This is not the first time that the PMRDA has issued a notice to PITCMRL. A notice regarding the roads from Maan-Hinjawadi to Shivajinagar was issued to the concerned parties 15 days ago.

The PMRDA's crackdown on PITCMRL is a welcome move for citizens, who have been bearing the brunt of the company's negligence. With the city's real estate market booming, the PMRDA's efforts to improve the city's infrastructure are a step in the right direction.
