Pune MLA Raises Concerns Over Missing Issues in Maharashtra Governor’s Address

Mumbai, 25th February 2026: During the discussion on the Governor’s Address in the ongoing Budget Session of the Maharashtra Legislature, Wadgaon Sheri MLA Bapusaheb Pathare expressed disappointment over the absence of several key issues related to his constituency and Pune city in the speech. He raised multiple public concerns in the House and sought immediate government intervention.

Pathare said it was unfortunate that the Governor’s Address did not mention the valour, sacrifice, and contribution to Swarajya of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. He also pointed out that Shri Kshetra Lohgaon, the grandfather’s home of Sant Tukaram Maharaj, has not received the expected tourism development support. He highlighted the deteriorating condition of the historic Harnatale in the area and demanded dedicated funds for the comprehensive development of these sacred and historical sites.

The MLA further stated that road widening work on the Dehu–Alandi to Pandharpur Palkhi route between Dighi and Kalas has been stalled due to the non-transfer of defence land. As a result, severe traffic congestion has been affecting commuters. He urged the government to take possession of the land at the earliest and complete the project on priority.

Citing rapid urbanisation, expansion of the IT sector, and the inclusion of newly merged villages, Pathare said traffic congestion in Pune has intensified significantly. He stressed the urgent need to commence both the internal and external ring road projects to ease the growing traffic burden.

To promote women’s empowerment, he demanded the establishment of a “Sakhi Mall” in Pune city to provide market access to products made by women’s self-help groups. He also flagged the long-pending “Police Mega City” housing project in Lohgaon and called for its immediate completion.

Under the “Chief Minister Baliraja Farm Road Scheme,” several farm roads in the Wadgaon Sheri constituency are yet to be opened, causing difficulties for farmers, he said. He also urged the government to increase the limit of stamp duty concessions on agricultural and horticulture loans. Additionally, he emphasised the need to expand sports and fitness infrastructure at school and college levels for students.

Pathare questioned the delay in providing solar pumps to eligible farmers under the Pradhan Mantri Kusum Yojana. He also sought clarity on actual job creation arising from investment agreements signed at Davos.

He demanded transparency regarding the implementation, assistance pattern, and timeline of natural farming schemes. Further, he called for increasing the free electricity limit for agricultural pumps from 7.5 horsepower to 10 horsepower and expediting the land lease agreement process under the Solar Agricultural Feeder Scheme 2.0.

Expressing regret over the omission of these key issues from the Governor’s Address, MLA Bapusaheb Pathare urged the state government to take prompt action to address the concerns raised in the House.
