Pune: Muslim Community Organizes Massive Protest March for International Quds Day
Camp, 13th March 2026: To observe International Quds Day, the Muslim community of Pune, under the leadership of the Wilayat Youth Council, organized a protest march today to advocate for global peace and condemn international atrocities.
The demonstration, held on Friday, March 13, 2026, served a dual purpose: to mark the annual International Quds Day (also referred to in the council’s communication as International Peace Day) and to voice a stern protest against global terrorism. Specifically, the organizers highlighted the ongoing human rights violations in Palestine.
Furthermore, the march was organized to condemn the assassination of the senior religious leader, Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei.
The protest march commenced at 2:00 PM from the Somji Petrol Pump area. The procession followed a route via Mahesh Lunch Home and concluded at the District Collector’s Office at 4:00 PM. According to the Wilayat Youth Council, several social organizations from across the city joined the movement to show solidarity.
Khisal Jafari, President of the Wilayat Youth Council, stated in a press release that the event aimed to bring public attention to these international issues and demand justice.
The Wilayat Youth Council, based in Guruwar Peth, has been a registered entity in Pune since 2016. It is known for its active role in community service and advocacy for social causes, particularly those related to human rights and international peace.
