The Ganeshkhind Road widening project is a crucial part of Pune’s urban development plan aimed at easing traffic congestion and enhancing road safety by widening the existing road.
A total of 5,015 trees will be planted in various areas across Pune to compensate for the environmental damage caused by the tree felling on Ganeshkhind Road.
The tree species include Neem, Banyan, and Peepal, known for their ecological and aesthetic value.
The benefits include environmental restoration, community engagement, and the enhancement of urban green spaces, making the city more pleasant and livable.
The main challenges include ensuring the survival and growth of the newly planted trees, which requires regular maintenance and care. The PMC is committed to providing necessary resources and support for this purpose.
