The main reason for traffic congestion in Hinjawadi is the presence of unauthorized constructions and encroachments, which block key thoroughfares and drainage channels.
PMRDA has cleared 166 encroachments in the past 15 days as part of its anti-encroachment drive in Hinjawadi and surrounding areas.
The encroachment removal operations are being led by Dr. Deepti Suryavanshi, Head of the Unauthorized Construction Removal Department, and Tehsildar Asha Holkar, under the guidance of PMRDA Metropolitan Commissioner Dr. Yogesh Mhase.
PMRDA is currently surveying areas such as Shivaji Chowk to Smashanbhoomi Road, Shivaji Chowk to Wakad Road, Shivaji Chowk to Phase 1 Road, and across Hinjawadi, Maan, Marunji, and other surrounding areas.
The expected outcome of the encroachment removal drive is to significantly improve traffic flow, reduce congestion, and enhance the overall quality of life for residents and commuters in the Hinjawadi-Maan-Marunji corridor.
