Pune Porsche Crash: Government Forms Panel to Investigate Blood Sample Tampering
Real Estate Pune:A Porsche car hit a motorcycle at Kalyani Nagar in Pune on May 19, resulting in the deaths of two software engineers. The incident has sparked widespread outrage, particularly due to allegations of tampering with the blood samples of the 17-year-old accused, the son of a prominent Pune-based real estate developer.

In response to the incident, the state government has formed a special three-member panel to investigate the matter and submit its findings. The panel, headed by Dr. Pallavi Saple, Head of Sir JJ Hospital in Mumbai, will thoroughly investigate all aspects of the case and report back to the government.

Meanwhile, the father and grandfather of the minor accused were remanded to police custody till May 31. The Pune Commissioner of Police, Amitesh Kumar, had earlier stated that the 17-year-old boy's blood sample was thrown in the dustbin and replaced with the blood sample of another person in a bid to save the minor accused.

Consequently, Dr. Ajay Taware, Head of Forensics, and Dr. Shrihari Halnor from the Blood Bank, along with peon Atul Ghatkamble, have been arrested and placed in police custody until May 30.

The crash has ignited widespread national outrage, particularly due to the swift granting of bail to the teenager within just 15 hours. Many have criticised the conditions of his release as inadequate.

The fact that the 17-year-old accused was granted bail on a surety of Rs 7,500 and an assurance from his grandfather to keep him away from bad company has sparked widespread anger and disbelief.
