In response to the incident, the state government has formed a special three-member panel to investigate the matter and submit its findings. The panel, headed by Dr. Pallavi Saple, Head of Sir JJ Hospital in Mumbai, will thoroughly investigate all aspects of the case and report back to the government.

The Pune Commissioner of Police, Amitesh Kumar, had earlier stated that the 17-year-old boy's blood sample was thrown in the dustbin and replaced with the blood sample of another person in a bid to save the minor accused.

Consequently, Dr. Ajay Taware, Head of Forensics, and Dr. Shrihari Halnor from the Blood Bank, along with peon Atul Ghatkamble, have been arrested and placed in police custody until May 30.
