Pune Porsche Crash: Grandfather of 17-Year-Old Driver Sent to Police Custody
Real Estate Pune:A tragic car crash in Pune has taken a new turn with the arrest of the grandfather of the 17-year-old driver involved in the accident. The teenager's grandfather was arrested for allegedly pressuring the family's driver to take blame for the accident, which killed two people.

According to the police, the driver initially claimed to be driving the car but later revealed that the teenager was behind the wheel. The police alleged that the teenager's father, Vishal Agarwal, a real estate developer, and his grandfather put pressure on the driver to own up to the crime by offering him gifts and cash.

The driver was confined to the grandfather's house, where his phone was confiscated, and he was threatened. However, the driver's wife rescued him the next day, and he subsequently gave a statement to the police.

The police commissioner, Amitesh Kumar, said that the driver was frightened and was offered gifts and cash to own up to the crime. The driver and his family will be provided police protection.

The investigation has revealed that the teenager was driving the car while drunk, and the driver was not involved in the accident. The police have recovered CCTV footage from the accused's house, which indicates that the footage was tampered with.

The grandfather was booked under Indian Penal Code sections 365 (kidnapping) and 368 (wrongfully concealing or keeping in confinement). The court has remanded him in police custody till May 28.

The teenager's father, Vishal Agarwal, is already in judicial custody in another case registered in connection with the May 19 accident. He was booked under the Juvenile Justice Act for 'exposing a child to danger' by handing over the car to his son while knowing that he had no driving license.

The parents of the two IT professionals who were killed in the accident have demanded a Supreme Court-monitored probe into the case.
