Pune Porsche Crash: Police to Use AI Tools for Digital Reconstruction of Accident Scene
Real Estate Pune:To get into the crux of the Pune Porsche crash case, which has been witnessing multiple twists since its inception, the crime branch officials are planning a “digital reconstruction” of the accident scene using the latest state-of-the-art artificial intelligence (AI)-based tools.

The case involves the 17-year-old son of a renowned Pune real estate developer, who allegedly under the influence of alcohol knocked down two young software engineers with his speeding Porsche Taycan on May 19.

A report by India Today mentioned a senior officer of Pune Police saying AI tools have not yet been used for recreating accident scenes. They were effectively used in murder cases for body identification.

A high-ranking official, quoted by Times of India in a report, said a highly skilled cyber expert, with utmost precision, will design the reconstruction of the crime scene digitally, utilising the power of sophisticated AI-based software. All the details of the crime scenario will be carefully fed into the software to create a digital representation of the crime scene.

“The intricate movement of vehicles, the precise number of individuals present on the road, the staggering speed of the Porsche, and myriad other crucial factors will be painstakingly taken into consideration for the comprehensive reconstruction of the crime scene,” the official said.

“As the accused is a minor, he cannot be physically taken to the spot. Invaluable inputs from the forensic department will also be seamlessly incorporated,” the official further said.

It will also recreate the route from the teen’s home to Cosie restaurant and then to Blak Club in the Mundhwa area, and from the club to the Kalyani Nagar area where the accident occurred on May 19.

The teen had partied in Cosie restaurant and Blak Club before he rammed his luxurious car into a bike killing two people.

As per reports, a large amount of CCTV footage of the route taken by the minor accused leading to the spot of the accident has been collected by the police which is expected to be of great help in the digital reconstruction of the accident site.

Meanwhile, police officials also disclosed that Pune police have been inundated with three separate complaints against the father of the minor accused in various cases.

Pune Police is a law enforcement agency responsible for maintaining law and order in Pune, India. Pune is a city in the Indian state of Maharashtra, known for its automotive industry and educational institutions.

Cosie restaurant and Blak Club are popular nightspots in Pune, India. Porsche is a German luxury sports car manufacturer. AI tools are being increasingly used in forensic science and accident reconstruction.
