Pune Residents Rush to Pay Property Taxes as Deadline Approaches
Real Estate Pune:The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has extended the property tax payment deadline by 15 days, allowing citizens to avail of the 5-10% discount until June 15. This move comes as a relief to many Pune residents who were facing delays in receiving their property tax bills.

As of May 30, the PMC has collected a total of Rs 973 crores in property taxes, with 5.65 lakh citizens having made their payments. The corporation has issued a total of 14.15 lakh bills, and is expecting to exceed Rs 1300 crore in collections post-discount.

To facilitate payments, the Citizens Facilitation Centers (CFC) of the PMC will be open from 9 AM to 9 PM until May 31st, and will remain open on weekends and holidays. The corporation has also appealed to citizens to make online payments.

The PMC offers a 10% discount to citizens with property tax bills under Rs 25,000, and a 5% discount for bills over Rs 25,000. This early-year discount is provided to maximize revenue, and has been successful in encouraging citizens to pay their taxes promptly.

With the extended deadline, Pune residents are urged to take advantage of the discount and make their payments as soon as possible.
