The deceased police official, Rajkumar Gaikwad, was 62 years old. According to the information given by the police, Rajkumar Gaikwad, who is originally from Pune and currently lives in Market Yard, had gone trekking to Sinhagad Fort with his friends. While climbing Sinhagad Fort, he suddenly started feeling pain in his chest. This was noticed by his friends. A doctor friend was also with him. Therefore, the said doctor friend initially gave first aid to Gaikwad there and then admitted him to a nearby private hospital. However, the doctors told them that Gaikwad had died before treatment. Gaikwad's other colleagues were shocked to learn that the friend who had accompanied them on the trek had passed away. Rajkumar Gaikwad was a person of amiable nature. He had served in many police stations in Pune. He had served as a senior police inspector at Swargate police station. He had also worked in places like Mumbai.
