The final stretch of the Sinhagad Road flyover between Goyalganga Chowk and Inamdar Chowk is expected to open soon, with civic officials making efforts to complete the pending tasks quickly.
The project includes a 520-metre flyover at Rajaram Chowk, a 2,120-metre stretch from Vitthalwadi to Fun Time Cinema, and a 1,540-metre stretch between Goyalganga Chowk and Inamdar Chowk. It also includes road markings, signage, hazard boards, and junction improvements.
The flyover will help reduce traffic congestion, particularly at the Rajaram Bridge crossing and along Sinhagad Road. It will allow vehicles to bypass five traffic signals, improving travel time and easing traffic flow during peak hours.
The project faced delays due to the decision to construct pillars for metro stations on the proposed metro route from Khadakwasla to Hadapsar via Swargate. The ongoing rains also slowed down the construction work.
