The woman involved in the extortion case is the director of a private company that provides food and transportation services to students of a renowned school in the Karvenagar–Shivne area of Pune.
The woman was extorted Rs 44 lakh by the Ghaywal gang and their associates.
The accused in the extortion case include Bapu Kadam, Nilesh Ghaywal, Sachin Ghaywal, Pappu Dalvi, Abhi Gorde, Deepak Amle, Babu Veer, Amol Bandgar, Babu Pisal, Amol Lakhe, Sandeep Phatak, Bablu Golekar, and Bablu Suravase.
The case has been registered at the Warje Malwadi Police Station, and investigations are currently underway.
Nilesh Ghaywal is already absconding in the Kothrud firing case and has seven other criminal cases registered against him, including charges of extortion, kidnapping, and illegal possession of property.
