The Pune-Bengaluru Expressway is targeted for completion by 2028, as per a 99 acres report.
Once completed, the travel time between Pune and Bengaluru will be reduced from the current 15 hours to just 7 hours, with vehicles permitted to travel at speeds of up to 120 km/h.
The project will feature six Road Over Bridges (ROBs), 22 interchanges, 55 flyovers, and 14 crossings over national and state highways.
The improved connectivity and accessibility will attract more residential and commercial developments, particularly in tier-2 and tier-3 cities, boosting the local economy and creating new opportunities for growth and investment.
The project is estimated to cost over Rs 50,000 crore and is part of the Bharatmala Pariyojana.
