The new SOP introduced by the Punjab government is a Standard Operating Procedure designed to expedite the process of issuing licenses for real estate colony development. It aims to make the process faster, more transparent, and time-bound.
Under the new SOP, colony development licenses will be issued within 60 days of the application submission. This includes a Letter of Intent within 30 days and the final license within the next 30 days.
The new SOP involves fixed timelines for all concerned branches and departments, including Planning, Accounts, Licensing, PSPCL, PPCB, Forest, Drainage, NHAI, and PWD.
Any officer failing to meet the deadlines under the new SOP will face disciplinary action, as per the guidelines set by the Punjab government.
