Purandar Airport: 96% Farmers Consent to Land Acquisition

In a major step towards the long-pending Purandar greenfield airport, Pune district collector Jitendra Dudi confirmed that 96% of farmers have given their consent for land acquisition. The remaining dissenters will face compulsory acquisition under the relevant provisions.

The consent was recorded during the process under the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition Act. The collector said the response reflects growing confidence in the project's compensation package and development prospects.

Real Estate Impact

Purandar airport is expected to catalyse residential and commercial growth in Saswad, Jejuri, and the surrounding belt. Property experts believe the airport will improve connectivity and open new investment corridors in south-eastern Pune.

With land acquisition nearing completion, the project is likely to move into the construction phase, giving a fresh impetus to infrastructure-led real estate demand in the region.
