The suspect was a 58-year-old real estate agent named Rajan Jadhav. He allegedly took one of the girls aside, covering her mouth, in an attempt to assault her.
A parent arrived searching for their child and raised the alarm. Other residents gathered and restrained the accused before contacting the police, who promptly arrived and took Jadhav into custody.
The suspect was booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, which is a comprehensive law to protect children from sexual abuse and exploitation.
